As a certified hypnotist, I am going to explain what self-hypnosis is, why you should try it, and how to hypnotize yourself at home.

What Is Self Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation and focus where your mind becomes open to suggestions. It's like meditation with a goal.

In hypnosis, you are bypassing the critical thinking mind and going to the subconscious, where the programing is. Here you can rewrite the code you have been unconsciously playing out in your life. Self hypnosis is doing this yourself, no hypnotist needed.

How To Do Self Hypnosis

  • Get Comfy - Sit or lie down in a quiet space where you can completely let go. Close your eyes.


  • Breathe + Focus - Take slow breaths. Inhale for 4, exhale for 6. Imagine a staircase, then count down from 10 to 1, sinking deeper into relaxation with each number you count. Let your body and mind completely relax.

  • Plant the Seed - Now that you are in this dreamy, peaceful state repeat a positive suggestion you want to experience, like:

    "I am safe and relaxed."

    "I trust my body is healed."

    "I step into my highest self with ease."

  • Invite in your Senses - What would it feel like to have what you want emotionally and physically in your body? What would it look like? (visualize or know), What would it sound like? Would it have a taste or a smell? Make this as vivid as possible.


  • Embody its completion. Allow it to settle into every fiber of your being, a knowing.

  • Stay here for a few minutes, then count yourself back up from 1 to 5, opening your eyes feeling refreshed.
